[Hot New Music!] JSP - Magnanimous (Album Review)

Western Pennsylvania’s Hip Hop scene has been secretly on the rise and leading the way is the city of Pittsburgh. This Black Friday hip hop enthusiasts will have the opportunity to catch a great deal without having to leave the comfort of their homes. Justuce (pronounced “Just-Us”) Street Poets are releasing an all-new album that will be hitting digital sites this Friday.  The album is a fresh look into Pittsburgh’s wide-ranging Hip Hop sound.

When first taking a look at the group, it may throw you off just a little.  You’ll probably even take a second look.  However one might be surprised by the way these emcees gel together and body this album.  The crew delivers an extensive sound, which makes perfect sense as they mix the styles of a biker, ladies man, model, comic, and hip-hop fundamentalist.

The veteran group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania consists of members Cory Eaux, Ceno, LuckyFace Dollars, Kniseburgh, and their hype man Slim. The crew put together an album that captures the many sounds of Hip Hop, with a soulful ambience that is truly inviting to the ears.

Titling the album Magnanimous, the JSP appear to be in a giving mood.  A few of the tracks can actually be found within this article.

The first track on the album was like an intro to a great movie, it screamed success from the very beginning.  As the album played on, each member contributed, adding his own swag to each track line by line.

Hot tracks like “Candlelight White” featuring fellow Pittsburghers rapper Young Midas and Poetyk; and “Back To The Money” produced by INFO, make this album complete.

The last track on Magnanimous titled “Paranoid Delusions” was a nice sendoff to what I feel was a great album.  As the track played I could see the credits scrolling in mind as if it was the ending to a dope movie.

The Justuce Street Poets are adding the yellow to this Friday and making it “Black & Yellow” Friday. These boys definitely just put on for their city and on November 29th you too can partake in the latest vibes from the Steel City.  Magnanimous will be available for your listening pleasures on digital sites like iTunes, Amazon, and more.

[Hip Hop News Now] BET Officially Cancels 106 & Park

First the Fat Boys break up, then Music Television stops playing music videos, and now BET cuts what could be considered a staple in mainstream Hip Hop.  Today BET’s President of Music Programming, Stephen Hill, announced that “106 & Park” would air its last on-air episode next month, December 19th.  This is a major blow to Hip Hop.  Since MTV closed its door on music videos, it ultimately left music artists with few options to showcase their videos.  Of course the Internet became the ideal platform to promote music videos, however, the BET network continued to give artists a stage and it kept its viewers up to date on everything in the culture.  BET accomplished this feat with their answer to MTV’s “Total Request Live,” commonly known as “TRL.”   In the year 2000, BET’s “106 & Park” was born.  The music/variety show would run for 14 years before finally getting the axe.

According to sources, the network is focusing on taking “106 & Park “digital. Stephen Hill said in an internal memo released by the channel that the move online will bring "106 & Park" to where its audience connects with music the most.

My question to you all taking the time to read this article is, “Where do artists now strive to get their videos played?” People may dismiss the actual value that “106 & Park” brought to Hip Hop’s table, but no matter how you look at it, it provided our culture with a place to grow.

[Hot New Music!] Juvenile feat. Drake – “Sho Me Love”

Juvie is back and this time around the Nola rapper finds himself amongst familiar faces as he reconnects with his former boss, Birdman, for his recently released single “Sho Me Love.”  The single features YMCMB rapper Drake and will appear on Baby’s Rich Gang album slated for release on November 24th.

Juvenile handles the bars as Drake puts his stamp on the hook over top of the London On Da Track produced song.  It’s been a while since Juvie had fans backing that azz up.  Is this the track that once again makes him relevant in Hip Hop or is this just a brief reminder of what used to be?  You tell us…"Pump It or Dump It?”

Listen to “Sho Me Love” by Rich Gang feat. Juvenile & Drake below.
