[Hot New Music!] Meek Mill feat. Mac Miller – “I Like It”

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill was on course to have a remarkable and quite impressive year, however, a parole violation sent the MMG artist to prison during the summer right before what seemed to be a climax in his career.

With an expected release date in September it left Meek with no chance of promoting his upcoming album Dreams Worth More Than Money.  Needless to say, the album has been pushed back, and we haven’t heard from Meek in a while.  The good news is that an unreleased track with Pittsburgh emcee Mack Miller has surfaced and we have found ourselves with another banger. The two collaborated before on the remix to Meek’s hit “House Party”, but this track is something special.

No word yet on any release date for Meek Mill, but let’s hope that we can hear some more new Meek soon.  #FreeMeek

[Hot New Music!] Boaz - Real Name, No Gimmicks Vol. 2 (Stream Here)

If you haven’t figured out yet that Western Pennsylvania’s rap scene is about to blow, I’m glad you decided to take the time to read this.  We all know that Wiz Khalifa put the spotlight on Pittsburgh, but what you may have not known is that he also cracked the door for other talented emcees to follow his path.  Following Wiz through that same door was Pittsburgh’s Mac Miller and now another great artist by the name of Boaz.

Boaz, who is originally from Pittsburgh, is signed to Pittsburgh based Rostrum Records and is expected to be the next big thing from the area.  Growing up in the neighborhood of Larimer on Pittsburgh’s east side, Boaz learned early what it took to better his situation.  In high school, he linked with another local kid looking to start a record label, and put together an EP, as well as the single “It’s Alright.” The track would eventually gain major momentum, and was picked up by the local radio station, WAMO; it went on to win a battle of the beats contest eight weeks in a row ultimately finding its way to retirement.

Now that Boaz has paid his dues, he is asking for his audience to pay homage.  Yesterday, he released the first track from his Real Name, No Gimmicks Vol. 2 mixtape entitled “Mathematics” produced by Amadeus.  Today, Boaz dropped the entire mixtape for our listening pleasures. The mixtape features Grafh and MMG’s Rockie Fresh.  Check out the five-track mixtape below and if you happen to run into Boaz wish him a “Happy Birthday”; he will be celebrating on September 8th.

Western Pennsylvania is most definitely on deck, so take a seat at the table and stay tuned as these upcoming artists swing for the fences.
